Laser Technology Inc. Releases LTI 20/20 TruVISION®

CENTENNIAL, CO April 19, 2018 – Laser Technology, Inc. (LTI), a pioneer in laser-based speed measurement equipment for law enforcement, is excited to announce the release of a new handheld, all-in-one video laser – the LTI 20/20 TruVISION®. LTI has worked to increase roadway safety ever since introducing its first laser speed device more than 25 years ago, and the TruVISION is the latest product to help continue that mission today.

The Next-Generation Video Traffic Enforcement Laser

Like the LTI 20/20 TruCAM, a similar laser video device that is widely used all over the world, the TruVISION is a portable speed enforcement instrument with decades of technology innovation behind it. The device collects and stores high-resolution images and full-length video, capabilities police departments can leverage to curb risky driver behavior, including speeding, and support sustained enforcement of traffic safety laws. With its patented distance-between-cars technology, the TruVISION also assists in tailgating enforcement, aggressive driving, distracted driving, obstructing traffic and the misuse of HOV lanes.

More than 1.25 million people are killed each year on the world’s roads, and “road traffic crashes are a leading cause of death globally, and the leading cause of death among those aged 15 to 29.” That’s according to the World Health Organization’s (WHO) 2015 Global Status Report on Road Safety, which emphasizes that speed is one of the leading risk factors in such casualties.

According to the WHO report, “the most positive changes to road user behavior occur when road safety legislation is supported by strong and sustained enforcement, and public awareness.” The United States has a long way to go in doing its part to help achieve that WHO goal by 2020, but experts have identified one of the most immediate ways to save lives on American roads – more stringent enforcement of the laws already in place.

The LTI 20/20 TruVISION photo/video lidar measurement device directly supports the WHO’s traffic safety recommendations in its unequivocal ability to enforce current traffic safety laws. Any defense claiming the ticketing officer has insufficient, non-biased evidence is immediately moot, reducing the burden on already-taxed court systems and supporting the integrity of any person or agency using the device.

Some of the TruVISION’s notable features include:

“The number one priority for us, as a speed enforcement technology company, has always been delivering quality products that help reduce traffic-related fatalities and increase roadway safety,” said Eric Miller, president of Laser Technology Inc. “The initial response to the TruVISION, with its enhanced video and imaging features and its (Distance Between Cars) technology, has been overwhelmingly favorable, and we look forward to this product helping to make positive changes to driver behavior and increasing traffic safety around the world.”

In the fight for safer roads around the world, the WHO recommends increased commitment to reliable and sustainable speed deterrents, such as video traffic enforcement. Deploying proven speed enforcement technology like the TruVISION, with three decades of innovation built into it, can help global law enforcement agencies meet that commitment and make quantifiable strides in increasing traffic safety.
