CENTENNIAL, CO April 30, 2020 – Laser Technology, Inc. (LTI) announced on December 11, 2019 that their TruPulse® laser rangefinder series is now supported within Trimble® TerraFlex™ field software for capturing remote features: expanding user ease and accessibility within the LaserGIS® workflow.
GIS professionals and field crews rely on the use of Global Positioning Satellites (GPS) and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) antennas, designed to receive specific signals for accurate feature and asset location data. However, satellite signals can be easily compromised by man-made features and Earth’s natural assets.
“Assets in places such as a busy roadway or under dense tree canopy can make it difficult for users to capture location information accurately, safely, and efficiently,” said Derrick Reish, Senior Product Manager at LTI. “The TruPulse laser rangefinder series enables users to accurately measure these assets without having to physically occupy the location.”
Supporting LTI TruPulse laser rangefinders within Trimble TerraFlex field software, created a new guided workflow for Trimble® users to integrate a TruPulse laser rangefinder into their workflow and achieve centimeter-accuracy in GNSS impaired environments, while increasing efficiency and safety.
“Embedding this functionality directly into the TerraFlex app simplifies the offset mapping workflow and enables users to accurately capture features in more places,” said Rachel Blair-Winkler, business area manager for Trimble® Mapping & GIS Solutions. “This release represents the continuation of Trimble and LTI working together to support laser rangefinder technology in Trimble GIS software solutions.”
LTI TruPulse laser rangefinders are already supported by many other software applications and GPS/GNSS receivers for a complete laser offset mapping solution. Visit our software solutions for mapping page more information on what software and devices are TruPulse compatible..
