The police in Ras Al Khaimah are putting an end to speeding! Although traffic laws have become stricter in the past 8 years, speeding still continues to be the most violated traffic law in the emirate.
Ras Al Khaimah is the latest Emirate that has decided to enhance their enforcement efforts, yet again, with the addition of LTI’s 20/20 TruCAM®.
The TruCAM is a photo / video speed enforcement tool that collects and stores a complete chain of video evidence for speeding, distracted driving, following too closely and more. As the most sophisticated speed enforcement tool on the market, it produces a high-resolution image that allows officers to identify the vehicle make, model, license plate number, and characteristics of the driver.
With the TruCAM’s ability to capture various vehicle types and sizes as well as cover multiple lanes at once, the Ras Al Khaimah police are confident they will be able to “catch all callous drivers.”
Col Ali Saeed Al Alkeem, director of traffic and patrols department with RAK police says:
“It will help curb traffic violations, mainly speeding on the roads of the emirate. The RAK police spare no effort to better monitor and control speeding and racing drivers, and try to ensure an accident-free society.”
All of the traffic department staff and patrol will be trained on the new speed gun, ensuring accurate and efficient enforcement in the most prone areas to speeding all around the emirate.
