TruCAM® for Speed Enforcement in Tendring, UK

By T Nyland, 04/30/18

More than 1.25 million people’s lives were cut short in 2013 due to a road traffic crash. According to the World Health Organization, between 20 and 50 million more suffered from non-fatal injuries with many incurring a disability as a result of their injury.

In order to keep roadways safe, governments need to start taking action to disengage risky driving behaviors.

TruCAM® to help Enforce Safe Speeds in Tendring, UK

A recent survey in Tendring, a district of Essex in England, showed that 78% of respondents believed speeding was an issue in their village. The solution to this problem came in the form of a donation of £8,500 from the Tendring Community Safety Partnership. Tendring law enforcement used this donation towards the purchase of Laser Technology’s TruCAM laser speed guns that will help enforce speed restrictions in their village, where drivers should not be exceeding their 30 limit law.

“It will go a long way in terms of reducing our killed and seriously injured statistics on the road, and therefore anything we can do to reduce those figures can only be a good thing,”

-Inspector Darren Deex, Tendring Community Policing Team.

The TruCAM reflects the latest advances in speed enforcement technology and is continuously helping government officials all over the world keep their roadways safe and improving driver’s behavior and speed compliance.

This high-resolution image and video speed enforcement laser speed gun can calculate how many km/h a vehicle is proceeding, up to 1,200 meters, and has the capability to tell if the driver is distracted or hovering to close to another vehicle.
